Welcome to Alum Rock Medical Centre
We are delighted to announce that we are now offering appointment all seven days of the week, including weekends! We have partnered with our neighbouring practices to be able to offer these additional appointments. Please note that Weekend and late Tuesday evening appointments are prebookable only, and will be held at our Hub based on Alum Rock Road.
We encourage the use of online access to book appointments and request repeat medication. This also frees up the telephone lines for other matters. Please speak to a member of reception to set the online access up for you.
We are working with the Wellbeing Service who can assist you with matters relating to benefits, housing, home adaptations, social issues and many other non-medical problems. Please speak to a member of staff to be referred.
Wellbeing Project is a scheme we would encourage you to self-refer to if you would like to improve your mental wellbeing. Alternatively our staff can refer you for an allocated co-ordinator from the Wellbeing Project.
You may also find this link to UrBrum Waiting Room useful, it contains a directory of local support services in Birmingham relating to health and wellbeing.

The medical centre is situated in the centre of Alum Rock on Highfield Road just yards away from the junction with Alum Rock Road. The practice has its own car park to the rear of the main building for staff and patients. The access is from Gowan Road to St Kilda’s Road and the first turn on the left leads into the surgery car park. The car park remains open during surgery time and is well illuminated with CCTV camera-monitoring. Please note that you will need to walk back out of the car park and along Gowan Road to access the main surgery entrance from the front of the building. Unfortunately currently there is no disabled access to the surgery from the rear car park. We have plans for a wheelchair ramp access from the rear carpark. We are also in discussion with the council about designated disabled parking spaces at the front of the surgery.
